Sweep of Ashland, Salley/Ward make states!

Great opening meet all around, the boys won 64-21, the girls 62-23 against our neighbors from Ashland. Katie Salley (1000) and Madison Ward (high jump) already qualified for states!

GIRLS (did boys first last year in recaps, so we'll switch it up!)
Hurdles: (1) Eve Bagley 8.1, (2) Bridget Ghelli 8.4, (3) Anna Foster 8.4 - a sweep with two sophomores and a freshman!
Dash: (2) Emma Guccion3 6.4 - great debut by the freshman!
Mile:(2) Alexis Mejia 6:07.5 - lost by just 0.2 seconds after the officials miscounted the laps
600: (1) Sydney Snow 1:52.2, (2) Madison Ward 1:54.8, (3) Bagley 1:56.3 - another sweep
300: (2) Virginia Hanstad 49.5, (3) Shauna Rockett/Emma Guccione 49.8
1000: (1) Katie Salley 3:22.8 - qualifies for states on our short flat track! (2) Kiara Hanlon 3:42.1
2 Mile:(1) Abby Meltzer 13:08.8 - beat the only two Ashland girls to beat her in XC!
Shot Put: (1) Hannah Brady 27'7 - big PR!, (2) Ally Rosati 22'4.25
High Jump: (1) Madison Ward 4'10 - states! (2) Sydney Snow 4'7
4x400 (1) Hanstad, Rosati, Ward, Snow, 4:42.6

BOYS
Hurdles: (1) Logan Cotto 6.4, (2) Will Bernard 8.4 - big win for Logan and great job stepping up by Will, who had never gone over a full set of hurdles before!
Dash: (2) Sam Ratcfliffe 5.8, (3) Ed Bennie 5.8 - the freshman with three points, and Ed picks up third!
Mile: (1) Ed Glazebrook 5:07.5 - passed the Ashland kid on the last turn to win by 0.4 seconds! (3) Ethan Harris, 5:30.6
600: (2) Ryan Moser 1:34.8 - only lost to the #1 returning kid in the league
300: (2) Logan Cotto 42.6 - lost by just 0.3 seconds in an event he doesn't normally do!
1000: (1) Ryan Leonard 3:03.7, (2) Tanner Datz 3:05.7, (3) Mike Glazebrook 3:09.5 - a sweep after they led the first three laps!
2 Mile: (1) Jack Boyd 11:30, (2) Ben St. George 11:46, (3) Luke McCallum 11:48 - good win for Jack, Ben/Luke pulled away the last mile to get the sweep
Shot Put: (1) Casey Cotter 28'2.25 a win for the freshman! (2) Sam Ratcliffe 27'3 (another freshman!) (3) Chris White 25'3.5 - good sweep!
4x400 (1) Leonard, Cole Osten, Harris, Moser, 4:06.0 - beat WW and Bellingham too!

Logan already earned his varsity letter with 13 points.
