Although she had run a scorching anchor leg at Relays, Kylie Lorenzen still had yet to run an open 400 this year. So while she still needed to qualify for states (can't use relay splits), she also wanted to make sure she got into the fast heat. To say she accomplished her goal would be an understatement. Ripping through the first 200 in 27-mid, already with nearly a second lead, she ran 58.86 to win by over a second, and just miss the meet record by 0.17. It's the #2 time in Division 3 East, setting herself as a favorite for All-States and potential class champion.
Performance list for EMass goes up Wednesday.
